Twin Bites Tuesday~ C

Here’s what I ate today:

Breakfast: Raspberry egg boost oatmeal (similar recipe on previous posts). I love to buy a lot of berries (raspberries and blueberries) when they are in season and on sale! I throw them in freezer bags to use for the next few months= big savings and peak nutrition and flavor!

Morning snack: Again my favorite, pumpkin dark chocolate energy bites (recipe on previous posts).

Lunch:

Crockpot summer turkey and bean chili (recipe to come!)(I call it a summer chili because I add in diced summer squash which lightens it up a bit) with a microwave steamed sweet potato (very convenient!) and plain Greek yogurt with banana slices (I love the tanginess of the plain yogurt paired with sweet fruit- but I didn’t realize it until I gave it several tries 😉

Afternoon snack:

Peach (I picked up a box at the farmers market this weekend-so juicy and delicious this time of year) and raw almonds.

Did you know…

that an almond is a stone fruit (other stone fruits are peaches, plums, apricots, cherries). On the tree, almonds look like small hard green peaches; the almond is the seed of this fruit. Dinner:

Leftover Greek Chicken Bake with whole wheat sweet potato gnocchi in olive oil and herbs and roasted broccoli. Yum!
